CarFit®

CarFit was developed through collaboration among the American Society on Aging, AARP, the American Occupational Therapy Association and AAA.

A trained professional completes a 12-point CarFit checklist with the individual and their own vehicle to "fit" the vehicle to the individual, i.e. mirror adjustments, seat position, steering wheel, head rest, etc.  The check only takes about 15 minutes.  For more information, visit the CarFit website.  If you are in the Richmond area and would like to be fitted to your car, please call 800-552-3402 for a personal appointment.

Virginia GrandDriver has trained over 60 CarFit event coordinators. CarFit has been popular at Aging events around the state. Contact The Virginia Department for the Aging for details on holding your own CarFit event.
